❝ Family, huh? Do they go to school - maybe I’ve seen them. ❞ He muses as he wonders why the other boy had some sort of nervousness, but he doesn’t ask. Maybe he’s just intimidating or maybe he’s too curious, but that’s not the real point. Steve just happened to know a lot of people in Hawkins and if there was a new kid, he’d know about it, however, he didn’t seem to know this kid. ❝ Nice to meet you, Bill. I’m Steve - Steve Harrington. ❞
“Just gu-grandparents,” Bill said with a shrug. This Steve seemed nice enough – Bill was doing his best not to be too wary. Moving somewhere new made him want to hole up in his house. Without the Losers, he felt lost, just a piece of a puzzle, only part of a whole. “How long’ve you lu-lived here?” he asked, tilting his head as he looked up at the slightly taller boy. Long enough to be able to give Bill a hand around? He wouldn’t mind knowing someone who could show him where things were, after all.
❝ Grandparents, like the ones that live in the retirement homes? ❞ He asked, knowing it was stupid of him to ask such a thing, but that was Steve. Asking stupid things and then realizing that he knew the answer all along - typical of him, really. ❝ All my life, been here since I was born. I live in those big, fancy houses, ❞ He smiles once again, widely, if anything. Some of it were hints to show the other boy around, but he wasn’t sure if he wanted to know all of Hawkins.
