❝ Family, huh? Do they go to school - maybe I’ve seen them. ❞ He muses as he wonders why the other boy had some sort of nervousness, but he doesn’t ask. Maybe he’s just intimidating or maybe he’s too curious, but that’s not the real point. Steve just happened to know a lot of people in Hawkins and if there was a new kid, he’d know about it, however, he didn’t seem to know this kid. ❝ Nice to meet you, Bill. I’m Steve - Steve Harrington. ❞
“Just gu-grandparents,” Bill said with a shrug. This Steve seemed nice enough – Bill was doing his best not to be too wary. Moving somewhere new made him want to hole up in his house. Without the Losers, he felt lost, just a piece of a puzzle, only part of a whole. “How long’ve you lu-lived here?” he asked, tilting his head as he looked up at the slightly taller boy. Long enough to be able to give Bill a hand around? He wouldn’t mind knowing someone who could show him where things were, after all.
❝ Grandparents, like the ones that live in the retirement homes? ❞ He asked, knowing it was stupid of him to ask such a thing, but that was Steve. Asking stupid things and then realizing that he knew the answer all along - typical of him, really. ❝ All my life, been here since I was born. I live in those big, fancy houses, ❞ He smiles once again, widely, if anything. Some of it were hints to show the other boy around, but he wasn’t sure if he wanted to know all of Hawkins.
Steve had let out an inaudible sigh of relief, his smile not going away as he looked over at the girl, soon faltering as Eleven had revealed where Nancy was. ❝ Gone? ❞ He asked, a tilt of his head as he wondered what she meant, chewing on his lower lip. For a second, he finds a slight joy in being in the Wheeler home, his brows furrowing at the girl as he was trying to figure out if she was spacing out or not. ❝ Outside, like – she went to the store? Or she’s outside, with her mom? ❞
▌█ ∵ εїз ∵ █ ▌Trying to remember exactly where Mike told her they had gone a small look of concentration on her face.❝With Mom. To gen-general Store. ❞ Word a slight struggle but managing to speak it before pulling the sleeve of her jacket over wrists just in case. He looked, confused she wore that type of expression a lot lately especially around the house. Taking a few steps towards where she had been sitting on the Lazy Boy she glanced to him before motioning for him to come sit down.❝ Wait?❞
He wasn’t as mean or as intimidating as people made it seem like, if anything. Listening to the girl, he nodded his head in confirmation and let out a slight sigh of relief. ❝ They went to the store? ❞ He asks, just wanting that safe okay from her again - just in case something happened to Nancy and Mrs. Wheeler. Steve reclines himself on the couch, being patient as ever, but he’s enjoying the casual conversation ( though it’s just a few words from her and a whole sentence from him ), he still likes it. ❝ Sure, I’ll wait. ❞
❝ Y-Yeah, I’m a friend, don’t worry, I won’t hurt you, ❞ He smiles that all time Harrington smile ( that took him places ) and looked over at the girl, knowing that she was one of Mike’s friends, though – despite everything else, he didn’t know where the hell she came from. Steve only knew everything that happened through Nancy and stuff related to that, but he never really met any of Mike’s friends personally. ❝ Do I need help? Thank you, but no thank you - I’m just here for Nancy. ❞
▌█ ∵ εїз ∵ █ ▌She liked him already it was decided. He seemed really nice but at the mention of Nancy her head shook. Her and her mom had gone to go get some things.❝Gone. ❞ She answered before going back to taking a bite of the eggo she held in her hand. Proceeding to open the door for him, Mike had gone to go get her a soda but she didn’t see why her couldn’t come inside. Glancing out past him just to make sure that no one was hiding she took a step to the side so there was space for him to get past.❝ She went outside.❞

Steve was known to be somewhat C O M E D I C, only to his friends that knew him most, though, he was caring and whatnot, but still very – used to himself, if that meant anything. ❝ Out of all the places here, why Hawkins? ❞ He questions, wanting to know the answer, maybe the other boy was looking for something that they haven’t found, but he wasn’t entirely too sure yet. All he knew was that there was some odd kid in town, looking for something, like they ALL were. ❝ I have a sixth sense, kinda psychic, you know? Kidding. ❞
“I have f-ff-family here,” Bill said with a shrug, his eyes finding a distant point past the boy in front of him, remembering all that he’d left behind. It was horrifying, what had happened; but he hadn’t wanted to leave. If anything, he’d needed to stay – with his friends, with everything that was known to him. This place was new and he felt remarkably out of place. He’d worked so hard to find his little niche, and now he had to start all over. “My n-name’s Bill, by the way. Bill Denbrough.”

It’s painful to even let the subject down, but Steve just wants to know if it was real or not, if any of it was real because it felt REAL to him. For once, he felt loved. ❝ Done? I – What am I doing wrong here, Jonathan? ❞ He croaks out, more than hurt that the other boy wanted to end things like this.
“i can’t pretend anymore, steve!! “ jonathan couldn’t help the burst of anger, tears filling his eyes. he leaned forward to kiss the boy, hands gripping at the boys face. “..i love you.” he whispers, leaning his forehead against steve’s. “i can’t pretend i don’t.”
For the first time, Steve Harrington was more than disappointed in himself - he hated himself for making Jonathan feel like this when they should have been public, but no. ❝ Neither can I, Jonathan! I hate how it’s eating away at me and I can’t do anything about it, ❞ He soon feels hands gripping his face, lips against his, liking the sudden feeling that Jonathan was giving him. ❝ I love you, I’ve always loved you, stupid idiot, ❞ He replies softly, feeling the other’s forehead against his. ❝ I love you, only you. Always you. ❞
Knowing that he was getting on the other’s good side ( quite well ), Steve had kept his smile and looked the other in the eyes, wanting to say something else, something more. His hand dropped as he heard the words come out from Jonathan’s mouth, he sort of looked away, not knowing what to really say. ❝ — I know it’s not easy for the both of us, but we have to do this. Keep it quiet, I mean. ❞ His eyes turn a little glassy and Steve Harrington doesn’t cry, but god, it’s hurting him so much because he doesn’t want to hurt Jonathan.
the byers boy shook his head. his attitude had always been stubborn with steve, he never truly let his guard down. part of him wondered if this whole thing was just one big joke, a bet that steve would collect on at the end of the month.. but he wanted to believe they were special.. that maybe this was real. “we don’t have to keep it quiet.. cause there’s nothing to keep quiet. i’m done, steve.”

❝ What bad thing, Jonathan? Tell me. ❞ Steve sighs softly, looking over at the Byers boy, chewing on his lower lip as he stays quiet ( for once ) and lets Jonathan say what he has to. ❝ You think this is easy on me? It’s not. All of the peer pressure and my parents asking me who I’m dating – it’s hard on me. I can’t stop thinking about you. ❞ He places his hand on the other’s cheek, a slight smile forming.
jonathan had to stop himself from bursting into tears as butterflies swarmed his stomach.. all because of the touch.. he couldn’t help it. steve had a hold over him. “i-i can’t..” he mutters, stepping back slightly. “i can’t do it anymore.” his eyes now glued to the fake plastic tiles of the floor.

Steve blinked, hearing what Jonathan said go from one ear to the other, still not currently believing things. ❝ We do, you’re just — B L I N D . ❞ Now, he wasn’t being pushy, but he knew what he really wanted and that was Jonathan, despite everything that had happened between them. ❝ You’re just.. Scared that something bad’s gonna happen and you think backing down is fine, but it’s not. ❞
“don’t you get it? something bad has already happened.” he sighed, leaning against the wall as he decided steve wouldn’t be moving. “i can’t be with you ━ i can’t keep it a secret anymore. i want to tell my mum.. i want to be able to hold your hand in the hallway. i can’t do it anymore.”

@untildxwn ; just take him, i’m done with this boy.
❝ — You say you wanna break, ❞ He muses, looking over at the other male, a hum leaving his lips as he gives serious contemplation over this, over whatever this was, currently. ❝ So, we break up. It’s a MISTAKE, so we make up. ❞
“ we DON’T work —steve.” the boy mutters, eyes closing for just a moment. “don’t call me again. just.. leave me alone.” he tried to push past him, but the boys bathroom was fucking tiny. “MOVE.”
