❝ Family, huh? Do they go to school - maybe I’ve seen them. ❞ He muses as he wonders why the other boy had some sort of nervousness, but he doesn’t ask. Maybe he’s just intimidating or maybe he’s too curious, but that’s not the real point. Steve just happened to know a lot of people in Hawkins and if there was a new kid, he’d know about it, however, he didn’t seem to know this kid. ❝ Nice to meet you, Bill. I’m Steve - Steve Harrington. ❞
“Just gu-grandparents,” Bill said with a shrug. This Steve seemed nice enough – Bill was doing his best not to be too wary. Moving somewhere new made him want to hole up in his house. Without the Losers, he felt lost, just a piece of a puzzle, only part of a whole. “How long’ve you lu-lived here?” he asked, tilting his head as he looked up at the slightly taller boy. Long enough to be able to give Bill a hand around? He wouldn’t mind knowing someone who could show him where things were, after all.
❝ Grandparents, like the ones that live in the retirement homes? ❞ He asked, knowing it was stupid of him to ask such a thing, but that was Steve. Asking stupid things and then realizing that he knew the answer all along - typical of him, really. ❝ All my life, been here since I was born. I live in those big, fancy houses, ❞ He smiles once again, widely, if anything. Some of it were hints to show the other boy around, but he wasn’t sure if he wanted to know all of Hawkins.
Steve was known to be somewhat C O M E D I C, only to his friends that knew him most, though, he was caring and whatnot, but still very – used to himself, if that meant anything. ❝ Out of all the places here, why Hawkins? ❞ He questions, wanting to know the answer, maybe the other boy was looking for something that they haven’t found, but he wasn’t entirely too sure yet. All he knew was that there was some odd kid in town, looking for something, like they ALL were. ❝ I have a sixth sense, kinda psychic, you know? Kidding. ❞
“I have f-ff-family here,” Bill said with a shrug, his eyes finding a distant point past the boy in front of him, remembering all that he’d left behind. It was horrifying, what had happened; but he hadn’t wanted to leave. If anything, he’d needed to stay – with his friends, with everything that was known to him. This place was new and he felt remarkably out of place. He’d worked so hard to find his little niche, and now he had to start all over. “My n-name’s Bill, by the way. Bill Denbrough.”

Steve liked to think of himself as a self-inserted genius, though his diagnosis of anxiety and bulimia made him think less of himself, but people seemed to like him and he was fine with that. ❝ Thanks, I’ll be here all night. I prefer tips, as well. ❞ He smiled his original Steve Harrington smile, the one that got people to like him, however – he didn’t feel like that at all. ❝ Yeah, they call themselves Dungeons and Dragons or something lame like that. ❞ He didn’t know who that kid was, but he sure looked like he would fit in with Mike Wheeler and his friends, truly. ❝ – You must be new here, am I right? ❞
Bill smiled just a little at the joke – okay, so maybe he wasn’t so bad. He seemed nice enough, if not a little….overconfident. Bill raised his eyebrows at the name, wondering if that was really what they called themselves, before giving a nod at the question. “Yeah, j-just m-mm—moved here,” Bill explained. After all that had happened, his parents had the genius idea to go live with his family in Hawkins. Bill wasn’t too thrilled about it, but he hadn’t had much of a choice. “How’d you n-n-know?”

❝ You and your friends – they seem O D D L Y similar to a group here. ❞ The taller teen mused as he cocked his head to the side, a soft smile forming. ❝ What do you guys call yourselves? The Unlucky Six? ❞
Bill tried to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but this guy? He seemed…suspicious. And humorously rude, in a very Richie Tozier sort of way. “F-ff-funny,” Bill managed, shooting him a somewhat dry, appraising look. “We c-call ourselves The Losers’ Club. Does the gu-group you mentioned have a n-n-name?” He’d only met one other kid here so far, Mike, so he didn’t know much about the other kids around here. He didn’t even know who this guy was, but Bill was just hoping his words were more of a joke than anything, and not a sign that he was going to be an asshole.
